Beau Rive
As many hotels become indistinguishable from one another, the aim at Beau Rive is to be distinctly different. The philosophy is a rather simple and old-fashioned one; you will be treated as our guest and we shall do everything we can to make you comfortable.

There is a well stocked library, the bar is always open and there is free wifi available in the lounge. However, we do not offer the usual, standard facilities such as cable TV, room service (or the dreaded mini-bar!).

Beau Rive is situated 240 feet above sea level on the East (Atlantic) coast between the villages of Castle Bruce and Sineku. The hotel is nestled into a hillside amid three acres of tropical gardens and forest, with a dramatic view of the ever-crashing waves at Anse Francais and Wakaman Point. The setting is secluded and private.

One can walk down though the forest and along the Richmond River to the beach, which is wild and rocky. The sea is too rough for bathing but there is a natural rock pool nearby where it is possible to swim when conditions allow. There is a black sand beach at the village of Castle Bruce one and a half miles to the south.

Although Dominica is only 29 miles long by 16 miles wide, due to the mountainous terrain road distances can be deceptive and it is certainly not an island which can be seen in a day. Being centrally located on Dominica’s east coast, Beau Rive is a convenient start-point for exploring the country.

When dining at Beau Rive you will experience good, home cooking rather than ‘restaurant food’. The only meat served will be chicken but we also serve fish and much of the menu will feature vegetarian dishes. A continental style buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and served between 7.30 and 9 am on the terrace. This will include fresh fruit, juice, home-made bread, preserves, yoghurt, fresh coffee and fine teas.

Guests are free to roam the well manicured grounds. There is also a roof terrace bar and dining room, swimming pool, and WiFi in the main building. Laundry service is provided on request. There are 10 guest rooms: 8 in the main house and 2 stand alone cottages. All guest rooms have ocean views and are the same size and design. All rooms include:

  • One queen-size bed
  • Veranda with ocean view
  • Private shower room
  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • Ceiling fan
  • 110v and 220v electrical sockets
  • Hair dryers on request
The relaxed but elegant style of Beau Rive is truly unique on the island. The care and attention to meals is unmistakeable, while the relative lack of ‘standard facilities’ (phones, TV’s, pervasive WiFi) encourages the guest to be present in the moment. Its central location does facilitate access to east coast destinations and Roseau area attractions. Roseau is 55 minutes away, and Melville Hall Airport is 40 minutes the north.
