Day 1 - Arrive Guyana
Formerly British Guiana, this now independent country is the western most of the three Guiana’s. Transfer to the capital Georgetown. (B,L,D)
Day 2 - Kaieteur Falls
Free day to explore Georgetown or take an optional tour to Kaieteur Falls. Overnight at Ocean Spray.

Day 3 - Fly to Annai Village
0915hrs transfer to Ogle Airstrip for flight to Rock View Lodge at Annai. Rock View Lodge is located where the savannah meets the forest-covered foothills of the Pakaraima Mountains. With its tropical gardens and flowering trees, the lodge resembles an oasis in the savannah, and attracts many species of birds, particularly nectar feeders and frugivores. Nearby patches of light forest are home to certain ant birds and flycatchers, and of course the grasslands support an avifauna of their own. Overnight at Rock View Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - 4X4 to Surama Village
This morning transfer by 4x4 to the Amerindian community at Surama. On arrival in Surama receive a welcome from a village counsellor and settle into your accommodation. A local guide will escort you for a short walk on trails to observe the forest and bird life. As the afternoon cools your guide will take you on a tour of the village. Visit the local school, medical centre and church along with some of the village houses. Tonight enjoy an educational walk to observe wildlife and experience the mystique of the forest after dark. Day 5 - Climb Surama Mountain, Paddle on Burro Burro River
Rise before dawn for a walk across the savannah and then the gentle climb up Surama Mountain in the cool morning air. This is the best time to observe bird life along the trail. Breakfast will be served at a look out point which affords incredible views across the village and savannah to the Pakaraima Mountains. Return to village for lunch and then take a three mile walk across the savannah and through the rain forest to the Burro Burro River. Your guides will then paddle you on the Burro Burro River for opportunities to observe Giant River Otters, Tapir, Tira, Spider Monkeys and many more species. Return to village for sunset. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - 4X4 to Iwokrama Canopy Walkway, Fly to Georgetown
Before dawn transfer to the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway to welcome the dawn chorus from 35M up in the tree tops. Breakfast at the Canopy Walkway before departing by 4x4 for Annai. Lunch at Rock View Lodge before an afternoon flight to Georgetown. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - Georgetown City Tour, Fly to Paramaribo Suriname
Enjoy a morning Georgetown city tour, highlighting the extraordinary wooden architecture and to shop in its exciting markets and craft shops. The tour will continue with a visit of the Cathedral, the tallest wooden building in the world, the museum and other historic buildings. 1330hrs transfer to the airport for Meta MSQ8406 departing at 1600hrs. Arrive in Paramaribo at 1750hrs and transfer to hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Commewijne River Tour
Today we take you on the Commewijne river, right opposite the capital city Paramaribo. The tour takes you along former colonial plantations of which most are now abandoned and no longer active. The first stop is made at the confluence of the Commewijne and Suriname river, at Nieuw Amsterdam, with a visit to the open air museum Nieuw Amsterdam. We cross over by boat to the right bank of the Commewijne river for a visit to Plantation Frederiksdorp. This plantation is an old cacao plantation, fully renovated to its former glory. After an extensive visit to Frederiksdorp, we once again cross over by boat and return to Paramaribo, by bus, in the afternoon. (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Visit Jodensavanne and Dutch Plantations
This morning we will travel Approximately 70 kilometers south of Paramaribo, at the right bank of the Suriname river, lies the former Jewish settlement Jodensavanne. This historic place was named after the Jewish that fled from the inquisition in Europe around 1650 after which they settled in this savannah area. This former Jewish village still shows the remnants of the oldest synagogue in the Americas as well as the ruins of a graveyard. Nowadays, these remnants have been cleaned and a simple cottage has been set up as a museum. Here, visitors find information about this unique, historic graveyard in the forest in Suriname. Your visit to Jodensavanne, the peacefulness of nature and the many springs will leave you a lasting memory. After Jodensavanne, the tour will continue to Colakreek, a recreation park in the savannah area. Colakreek is ideal for swimming, relaxing and walks through the savannah.The leaves falling in the water gives the creek its dark color which looks like that of the Coca Cola drink, hence the name Colakreek. Day 10 - Drive to French Guiana
Transfer by road along the coast to the French Guiana border. Welcome at customs in St Laurent and travel to Kourou. Mini city tour of St. Laurent du Maroni with a visit of the church in Iracoubo. Lunch at "Le Pakira" at Sinnamary. (B,L)

Day 11 - Visit Iles du Salut by Catamaran
Depart from the hotel for a full day excursion to Devil’s Islands by schedule Catamaran visit of St Joseph and Royale island, lunch at the guest house in Royal Island. Guided visit of the island ( in French only ) before the lunch including museum, main buildings, children cemetery, convict building, guards house, jails, etc. Return to Kourou by Catamaran at 1700. Day 12 - Visit European Space Center in Kourou
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Kourou to visit Space Centre ( in French only, movie in English, possible separate explanations in English ). Tour the main installations from 0800 to 1100, followed by a guided visit of the museum. Transfer to Cayenne for a city tour including Place des Palmites, Place de Grenole, Fort Ceperou. (B,L,D)
