Our passion is for off-the-beaten path, the unknown, the unusual and quirky mixed with adventure and nature. We love remote and pristine environments and working to benefit local communities. Nothing embodies this more than the last frontier of South America: Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.
But we aren’t averse to a bit of luxury either and so we have merged some of the best Caribbean hotels into our carefully planned trips, to add a touch of indulgence. Even in the Caribbean we feature less-known islands and search for the unexpected treasures that you won’t find easily.

    I stayed for several days at The Ori. The room was clean, bed comfortable, shower hot with enough pressure, food delicious, patio in the evening just lovely-with a cool breeze and view of plants and flowers and staff welcoming and friendly. I would like to return!

    The food and service was excellent. I loved seeing the otters and cats and understanding how they try to rehabilitate them. The morning drive to find the anteaters was amazing and one of the highlights of the entire trip.

  • Best jungle experience ever

    The Kabalebo Nature Resort is a one-of-a-kind experience. It is located in the middle of the jungle - the next human settlement is at least a one-week travel away by boat on the river. You spend your days doing various trips on the river, hiking through the rainforest, or just relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly and service-oriented. If you have a special wish, they will do their utmost to fulfill it - sometimes even before you say it! The guides are knowledgable and will safely guide you through the jungle. We stayed in the new Panorama Suites - they are new, big, and an almost unreal piece of luxury in the middle of nowhere. All in all, this was one of the best and most unique experiences ever! I lost my heart here and am dying to come back one day.

  • Beautiful, peaceful, comfortable

    We stayed in Inspiration Point Lodge for 3 nights and 4 wonderful days overlooking Misty Mountain top. The extraordinary location in the middle of the rain forest was fantastic. The accommodations are very clean,wonderful staff and delicious meals. Kabalebo Nature Resort is a one-of -a-kind experience. On all our guided hikes we got to see lots of beautiful birds especially the colorful Macaws, monkeys, frogs, spiders, snakes, and also our guide Kieron pointed out trees and plants and their medicinal properties. We also added a half a day of fishing. The water was still a bit high but still caught a 25 pound red tail catfish, Anjumara and a few large Piranhas. All catch and release but have the great pictures to remember. Got to swim in the rapids and relax in the hammocks. Wonderful experience and hope to come back again. This is my way of camping, comforts of home yet in the middle of the jungle.

  • Exceeded every expectation

    I have been to Suriname before, but wanted to stay in a property tthat had access to some of the remote communities along the Suriname RIver. The Danpaati resort not only offers this, but is also linked closely to community development projects in the small Maroon community of Dan on the far side of the river. The property is just fine; a three/half star resort, offering comfortable, en-suite cabins, a convivial meeting centre and dining room, a pool, river access for swimming, jungle activities and above all, the opportunity to find real peace. It is not (thank heavens) a resort that tries to cater to the whims of everyone; it is a resort that offers itself, and the atmosphere and philosophy that it works to to every visitor.

    I thought Rewa was a great wilderness experience. The journeys to and from the lodge made it feel like a real adventure. Vivian, our guide, really warmed up and was a lot of fun to talk to and very knowledgeable about the jungle.

    It takes a while to get here but oh, it's so worth it! Beautifull location on a island in the Surinam River. No wifi, loved it! And no warm water but who cares. The cold water is still warm enough. Electricity is on in the evening. Dinner is served in buffet style and although there is not really a choice, it's al good. Breakfast is also good, fresh bread rolls, cheese and salami and nutella and peanut butter. The cabans are quite basic but with a veranda and an amazing view. In the morning they bring you warm water to make tea or coffee. You will sit on your veranda with a nice cup of coffee and look over the river. You can hear the nature waking up. The staff is very very friendly and since a month they are even raising an orphaned pig named Kira. She likes to be scratched on her belly 🙂

    Another real gem and one of my favourite stays. The rooms were perfectly appointed and the bathrooms excellent. The natural pool, excursions on horseback, service and food were all excellent. The savannah breakfast and sundowner drinks were highlights too.

    Had such a wonderful stay at the Krasnapolsky Hotel. It was very quiet and we had a lovely view from our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Every time we came out our rooms we returned to a clean and tidy room. I even had a pedicure and got my hair done down stairs in the lobby at the salon how convenient!! Oh and breakfast was delicious..

    A really great stay at one of the most impressive of Guyana’s properties. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the food and service outstanding and the setting in the clearing really special. The sundowner drinks on the road was absolutely perfect.

    As a Platinum member, I prefer to stay at full service Marriott hotels where I get all the perks but this Courtyard hotel has the quality of service as if it was a full service hotel with moderate prices. Very well managed hotel, attentive staff. You will leave very satisfied.

    The street food breakfast was excellent and a great introduction to Georgetown. Delven was outstanding as was the overall market experience. It was informative and interesting and an assault on the senses (in a good way!).

  • Very Good Experience

    We went on a two days trip as a couple. The service at arrival was amazing as we were greeted with a typical Surinamese song and welcome treats. The lodge itself had an amazing view and it was overall comfortable. Because of the rain we were unable to take part in some of the activities, however the staff was very accommodating and nice and helped us to make arrangements for the next day. Zip-lining was amazing as they have multiple platforms of which one where you get to "fly" across the river. The staff was super nice.

  • Very Special!

    After an one hour flight and a 30 minutes boattrip we reached this beautiful place in the rainforest. We stayed there for four nights on an island in the middle of the river in a nice wooden cabin with an amazing view on the river and hammocks on the terrace. There was only one other couple. We were very well looked after (safety first!), fantastic food, especially the 'pom', we made wonderful guided trips in the jungle, went to marron villages by boat and had swims in the river. Highly recommended!

  • Kaieteur Falls

    A really memorable day at the falls. Having visited a few of the world’s largest waterfalls with 100s of other people, it was really unique to be somewhere so special and not having to share it with bus loads of tourists. The local guide was very good and the lunch was perfect. Oh, and the Cock-of-the-Rock!
