Itinerary
- You will be met at Cheddi Jagan International Airport (GEO) and transferred directly to your hotel, Cara Lodge, in Georgetown.
- Overnight at Cara Lodge (Check-in time 14:00 hrs).
- Enjoy a mixed walking and vehicle tour of the historic capital. You will visit key sites such as the National Museum and the Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology. See impressive colonial wooden architecture, including the Public Library, City Hall, Victoria Law Courts, St. Andrew’s Kirk, Stabroek Market, and the iconic St. George’s Cathedral. Explore the Botanical Gardens and visit a pond either there or in the National Park to feed the endangered West Indian Manatees.
- Optional Activity (Evening):Â Demerara Historical River Tour
Enjoy a sunset cruise to view the Demerara Harbour Bridge and watch the spectacular sight of Scarlet Ibis, Herons and Egrets flying to roost in the mangroves. - Overnight at Cara Lodge
- Optional Activity (Early Morning): Birding in Georgetown’s Botanical Gardens (3 Hours)
Make an early start to search for range-restricted species like the Blood-colored Woodpecker and the Carib Grackle. - Transfer to Eugene F. Correia International Airport (OGL) for a scheduled flight over the rainforest to Kaieteur Falls. Experience the world’s highest single-drop waterfall (741 feet), learn the Amerindian legend of Chief Kai, and look for the unique Golden Frog and the Kaieteur Swifts. A snack is included on the tour.

- Early departure (04:30/04:45 hrs) eastward along the Atlantic coast to the Mahaica River. Board a boat for a tour through a preserved riverine ecosystem, one of the best spots to view the Blood-coloured Woodpecker and Guyana’s national bird, the unique Hoatzin (“Stinkbird”). It is a good location to view Red Howler monkeys and if lucky see a Giant River Otters. Enjoy breakfast at the boatman’s home before returning to Georgetown.

A personalised and fascinating Guyanese dining experience prepared and served by Chef Eon John, complete with a serenade under the stars. - Overnight at Cara Lodge.
- Travel across the new Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge to the Essequibo River. Take a boat to visit Fort Island, to see the well-preserved Dutch ruins and the old Court of Policy. Stop at Sloth Island for lunch and exploring the island in hopes of finding sloths. Make a brief stop in the mining town of Bartica. Visiting the ruins of Kyk-Over-Al, the first Dutch capital and swim at Baracara Falls.

Enjoy a final breakfast before being picked up and transferred to Cheddi Jagan International Airport (GEO) for your departing international flight.
