Wild Coast Tour: Guyana, Suriname & French Guiana– Summer Season

9 Days

Tour Overview

Experience the Wild Coast Tour: Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana – Summer Season, beginning in Georgetown with an overnight at the historic Cara Lodge before flying inland to Kaieteur Falls, the world’s highest single-drop waterfall. Continue exploring Georgetown’s cultural highlights, from the National Museum and Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology to Stabroek Market, St. George’s Cathedral and the Botanical Gardens, where endangered West Indian manatees live in protected ponds. Travel east to the Mahaica River, home to Guyana’s national bird, the Hoatzin, before connecting by flight to Suriname and settling into Eco Torarica in Paramaribo.

Discover Paramaribo’s UNESCO-listed centre, including Fort Zeelandia, Independence Square, the Cathedral and the riverside Waterkant, then journey to Commewijne for Plantation Peperpot and Fort Nieuw Amsterdam, followed by a dolphin-watching cruise at Leonsberg.

Visit the Saramaccan Maroon village of Santigron before crossing the Maroni River to French Guiana. Explore Camp de la Transportation in St-Laurent du Maroni, sail by catamaran to the Îles du Salut (Salvation Islands), and tour the Guiana Space Center in Kourou. Conclude in Cayenne with an overnight at Central Hotel, completing an immersive journey across three countries of the Guianas.
