Wilderness Explorers attended Global Birdfair 2026 from 10–12 July at Lyndon Top near Rutland Water in the United Kingdom as part of the Guyana Tourism Authority stand, located at stands 26–27 in the Kingfisher Marquee. The stand was manned by Tony Thorne, Managing Director of Wilderness Explorers; Claire Thorne, Director of Wilderness Explorers; Carl Browne of the Guyana High Commission in London; and Kayla de Freitas of the South Rupununi Conservation Society. Rahul Aggarwal from Travel the Unknown and Aleem Raheem of Earth Trip, two operators selling Guyana, also visited the stand. The team also met Adams Toussaint, a Saint Lucian birder who works with Wilderness Explorers when it has birding clients in Saint Lucia, and Deniese B. of the London-based Caribbean agency Fabulicious Travels.

The Guyana booth was busy throughout the weekend, fielding enquiries about birdwatching opportunities in Guyana and the grassroots conservation projects that can be visited. Tony Thorne’s lecture attracted 109 attendees and covered the rich biodiversity and birding opportunities of Guyana’s rainforests, savannahs and coastline. Later that day, Kayla de Freitas gave a lecture to approximately 40 people on the award-winning work of the South Rupununi Conservation Society to protect the endangered Red Siskin.
